ABOUT

Miami Conservatory of Music (MCM) is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) community music school which accepts beginners through pre-professional music students. We welcome young students from age 5 and adults, beginner or accomplished, of all levels and visions. MCM works with each student to achieve personal goals – goals which can be as simple as learning a new musical expression or to prepare for a professional career. The students are offered performance opportunities in recitals, master classes, festivals, local and national competitions.

HISTORY

The conservatory opened in 2003.  At the end of the first school year, Miami Conservatory of Music counted 25 students and 4 teachers. Today, we cater close to 600 students and maintain a faculty of about 40 teachers.  Providing an environment where students are inspired to learn is the key to our continued success.

MISSION

The Miami Conservatory of Music is dedicated to the purpose of assisting our most talented young children to reach their highest achievement, with every individual having the maximum opportunity to prepare for a musical career. MCM's mission is finding and developping hidden talents within our community and creating venues for their musical expression. It serves as a liaison between beginning instruction and professional organizations. It offers the best in talent training and the possibility of attainment through a talent-and-need-based scholarship program. The future of our society depends upon the investment in our children. Educating our children and promoting creative expression shapes tomorrow's musical minds and future.
