2017-18 Chorus Audition Information
Audition Dates: Saturday, March 25, 2017 Sunday, March 26, 2017
Deadline to apply/schedule: Monday, March 20, 2017 at 5:00pm
Audition times: 11:00am-2:00pm (March 25), 3:00pm-5:30pm (March 25), 6:30pm-9:30pm (March 26)
Audition location: FGO’s Doral Center 8390 NW 25th Street Miami, FL 33122
Who: Potential new opera choristers and returning Regular choristers (not for Associate or Auxiliary Chorus)
Audition Duration: 10 minutes
Audition requirements (a pianist will be provided; please provide sheet music):
- Offer 2 Opera or Oratorio Arias, or Art Songs, in different languages (memorization encouraged)
- Range assessment
Audition panelists: Philip Pierce (Director of Artistic Administration), Katherine Kozak (Chorus Master)
Evaluation criteria: Intonation, Pitch/Rhythm Accuracy, Artistry/Style, Range, Overall Quality and Musical Ability

Once your materials have been received, FGO will contact you to schedule your audition. You must schedule an audition ahead of time – applicants without a scheduled audition time will not be heard.
FGO does not provide transportation expenses for choristers from their home to rehearsals or performances in either Dade or Broward counties. Compensation for all choristers shall be in the form of hourly fees for all rehearsals and a performance fee for all performances.
FGO Chorus rehearsals take place on weekday evenings and weekends. Wages are subject to the AGMA agreement with Florida Grand Opera. Florida Grand Opera is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
