In the 1980’s Palm Beach State College identified, through surveys conducted by the Palm Beach County Cultural Council, a need for a multi-purpose, community performance/meeting facility in North Palm Beach County. In response to this need a 750-seat theatre was designed for the Palm Beach State College Edward M. Eissey Campus in Palm Beach Gardens. In 1991 land on Campus Drive was donated by the MacArthur Foundation (5.37 acres) and the City of Palm Beach Gardens (3 acres) for the expressed purpose of building a theatre facility. An agreement was signed by all three parties that 40% of the time Palm Beach State College would make the facility available to the community for rental. These generous gifts prompted the Florida Department of Education to allocate $7 million in Public Education Capital Outlay (PECO) monies to build the facility. The grand opening was held March 18, 1994. The 2013/14 season will mark the Theatre’s 20th Anniversary
